I had the pleasure of being invited to Lanser’s on Main in Bryanston on Tuesday evening and it was just the perfect Valentine’s “eve” dinner!
Lanser’s on Main is a casual and cozy bistro with a homely look and feel.
They offer Italian / French style food with a generous menu to choose from. The space boasts an arty French feel with collections of frames and blackboards and a big Italian pizza oven – just the way Nona likes it!
Not to mention the gorgeous view that stretches as far as Waterfall with an intimate balcony that accommodates seating space for hot summer nights or to simply enjoy sundowners.
The food and service is excellent!
Chef Lanser comes to welcome you with the specials and recommendations, he really is so sweet and humble. His passion pours out of his smile! All the staff are very pleasant and attentive but Charles is wonderful!
To start I had the tomato tart.
The tomato is layered on an apricot mustard crust, roasted and topped with basil and chevre. SIDE NOTE: This is so tasty, I think my other half had a little food envy!
He ordered the bruschetta which includes a trio of three combinations…
Two tomato & onion salsa with cucumber + Two rocket, sundried tomato & parmesan + Two cottage cheese, smoked salmon, artichoke, dill & capers.
Both are very good but I highly recommend the tart!
For our main course, we ordered the 300g rump steak which is served with a creamy mushroom sauce, chips, and vegetables. As well as the risotto which comes with porcini and black mushroom, lots of parmesan and truffle oil (Nom nom nom)
This risotto has made it to the top of my list!! I am a vegetarian and eat ALOT of risotto – it is just incredible! #stilldreamingaboutit
And finally, time for dessert!
We shared the bar-one cheese cake which is the perfect size, not too big and not too sweet. Definitely worth a try if you love cheesecake (and bar-one)!
Thank you for filling our tummies and hearts with love, we will be back!
